Book Group and Meatloaf

I just started to read a new book at PACT Temples Book Group for those with Aphasia. The No.1 Ladies Detective Agency written by Alexander McCall Smith is the book.

This week was the introduction group. I had started to read the first chapter using both the book and the Audible since it makes it easier to do with Aphasia. One of our group talked about a BBC and American television network, HBO filmed a series based on the books and was located in Botswana. The first film is on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gPN_XJ_CDsA. It doesn’t tell the book’s story, but it gets a good view of the Botswana location.

When I watched the movie, one of the pieces gave me a creepy piece. In the 51:30 minutes, two funny characters are in the car. They are pretended to be police chasing the bad guys. They want to listen to music that makes “power” music. The first guy says he wants to listen to Luther Vandross. The second guy says, no way, we need to listen to Bon Jovi or Meatloaf. The movie starts with “Bat Out of Hell.”

Meatloaf is one of my favorite singers of all time. He died last week, on January 21. Meatloaf was my first album in 1977 when I graduated from college.
