Happy New Year!

new year, greetings, 2021

“Aphasia, the cruel illness resulting from a stroke, allowed Jean to understand what was said to her but prevented her from clearly replying.” – Robert Giroux.

Whether or not, each year is a new experience. This year’s 2020 was another one, and 2021 will be a new year.

Looking at 2020 is a reprise of other years. Every tried to make it about Covid19 and say it was the worst ever. Don’t bye it. In 2019 it was estimated to be approximately 2.8 million of all causes. 2020 will be higher, with about 3.1 million. Death sucks.

Three specifically of my friends died this year. One was cancer, a friend was 98 years old, and my high school soccer.

2020 had some good ones and not-so-good ones. I retired on January 1, started teaching at Cabrini on HR, and played a lot of golf.

On some others were not so much fun. I had a stroke, and I have aphasia. Everything I have to speak, writing, listening, and reading was gone for the most part. I can’t work, politics, communicating, and can’t easily humor anyone. My ability stayed.

What I have is gone, but my new one is different. A lot of opportunities and make 2021 a new day. I work hard each day to play golf, exercise, photography, family and friends, and granddaughter.

So I am not using that 2020 sucked and that 2021 will be great. We had our years, whether good or bad, and the new ones won’t know until we know. Keep happy and pay your prayers and hope next years are what I can do better than I best you could.

Happy New Year!

Hole-in-One

Early on Halloween, I had on a golfer costume. It turned into quite a trick for me.   I shot an Ace, a Hole-in-One. It is rare. I am an amateur and not playing well.   Being that I had a stroke on June 8, 2020, I blamed my terrible golf because of my Aphasia.
